We are deeply moved by the suffering experienced by people from Gaza, and our mission is to accompany, support, and listen as you begin to settle into life in Belgium. Whether it’s guidance through the asylum process, attending to medical needs, or connecting you with workshops and community activities, we are here to provide care, reassurance, and practical support.

Background

In October 2025, Oasis Belgium launched a new project specifically designed to support families arriving from Gaza.

The project is called “Ghaith Al-Nas”, a name chosen by the families themselves. It literally translates to “Rain for the People” and symbolizes the blessings of rain after a drought—hope, renewal, and life. 🌧️✨

The project began when Dr. Mandana Mehta was asked to provide medical checks for five newly arrived Gazan families. What started as a focused medical initiative quickly grew into a full-time role—accompanying families through the Belgian system, addressing urgent health needs, and providing guidance, reassurance, and care.

As word spread, more families reached out for support, and it became clear that a dedicated project was needed.

This led to the creation of Ghaith Al-Nas—a space of safety, solidarity, and hope for families beginning their lives here.

How We Support Families

• Workshops and community activities to foster connection, learning, and wellbeing

• Emotional support, listening, and being present as families adjust to life in Belgium
